Lyria Zeh

President

Lyria has a decade of experience in education technology driving results in numerous capacities, including product and project management, business and data analysis, and data governance.

She started her career in a charter school district, KIPP Texas, where she led the data team and implemented data governance structures to enable efficient data use for educators to support students in the classroom. She then transitioned to education technology consulting as a project manager and business/data analyst and began implementing Ed-Fi technologies in states and districts.

She is deeply committed to supporting educational organizations in creating sustainable business models for their Ed-Fi implementations.

Lyria has a B.S. in Engineering from N.C. State University and an M.B.A from The University of Texas at Austin.

Doug Loyo

Chief Executive Officer

Douglas started his career in education technology in 2002 when he developed a Student Information System (SIS) for a school in Mexico City. In 2019, Douglas played a pivotal role as a member of the core team responsible for conceiving and developing Ed-Fi. 

With over a decade of hands-on experience with the Ed-Fi standard and technology stack, Douglas has not only contributed to Ed-Fi’s creation, but he has also worked tirelessly to it’s continuous improvement and maintenance, and expansion. He specifically specializes in diverse data out strategies and applications as exemplified by his role as the senior developer for original Ed-Fi Dashboards, an more recently, as the Senior Solutions Architect responsible for developing the Ed-Fi powered Family Engagement Portal.

Geoff McElhanon

Chief Technology Officer

Geoff has over 30 years of technology experience, having spent the last 20 years in education starting with the Texas Education Agency as the architect of the PEIMS data collection team, and rearchitecting their solution to be scalable in handling the demands of peak periods of statewide data collection. 

In 2010, he was handpicked as the original architect of the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) Teacher Dashboards, the project which led to the realization that the Ed-Fi data standard was needed. He also was the lead architect for the development of of the Ed-Fi ODS API and the Ed-Fi API Publisher utility.

He has consulted with various SEAs and LEAs supporting them with their Ed-Fi implementations including Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and South Carolina, and continues to work directly with the Ed-Fi Alliance on the evolution of the Ed-Fi ODS API as part of the Ed-Fi Platform team.

Geoff is committed to serving the Ed-Fi community with his technical expertise and continues to do so through Edufied.

Emilio brings over 20 years of experience working with school districts across multiple states, demonstrating a profound understanding of their day-to-day operational needs. His commitment to delivering bespoke solutions has consistently added value to educational environments by addressing unique challenges.

As a seasoned full-stack engineer and senior SQL Server DBA, Emilio has been at the forefront of SQL Server technology, leveraging his extensive expertise across all versions since SQL Server 2000. His broad skill set encompasses building data warehouses, managing databases, supervising SQL developers, and ensuring optimal system performance through meticulous troubleshooting and maintenance.

Throughout his career, Emilio has excelled in gathering technical requirements and optimizing indexes for peak performance, showcasing his proficiency in enhancing database efficiency and functionality.

Additionally, Emilio has dedicated over 6 years to implementing and refining the Ed-Fi data standard, significantly contributing to advancements in data management and analysis within the educational sector. His multifaceted expertise and dedication make him a pivotal asset to any initiative aiming to leverage technology in education.
